About NIRFRank

What we do

NIRFRank brings ranking tables, institution profiles and supporting statistics into one consistent browsing experience. The goal is to help students and families move from a broad ranking list to a more informed shortlist without searching across many disconnected pages.

• Organize imported official NIRF ranking tables by category, year, state, city and ownership type.
• Connect ranking entries to database-backed institution profiles when a reliable identity match is available.
• Present year-wise ranking trends, scores, placement information and other available institutional statistics.
• Provide search and comparison tools that help visitors examine institutions using the same set of fields.

How students can use NIRFRank

A ranking is most useful as a starting point, not as the only reason to select an institution. Visitors can use NIRFRank to discover colleges in a preferred category or location, review an institution’s recent ranking history and compare the available data side by side.

Before applying, students should also check the institution’s official website for programmes, eligibility, fees, admissions, accreditation, facilities and current placement disclosures.

Our data approach

Published ranks and scores are retained as they appear in the applicable NIRF edition. Supporting information is linked to an institution only after its identity has been matched using identifiers, names, aliases and location details.

When a value is unavailable or cannot be matched confidently, it is left unavailable rather than estimated. Verifiable correction requests are reviewed against authoritative sources before the website data is changed.

Independence and limitations

NIRFRank is not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by the Ministry of Education, the NIRF team or any ranked institution.

Official NIRF publications remain the authoritative source. NIRFRank does not recalculate official ranks, predict admission outcomes or replace institutional, counselling or government notices. Ranking position alone cannot describe every aspect of teaching quality, campus experience or individual suitability.
