Privacy policy
Most of NIRFRank can be browsed without creating an account. This policy explains the limited information that may be processed while operating the site.
Information we may process
- Standard technical logs such as IP address, requested URL, browser details, timestamps and error diagnostics.
- Essential session and security cookies needed for reliable site operation.
- Basic preferences stored in your browser, such as a short-lived state-location result used to personalize a ranking section.
- Information you voluntarily provide in a contact, feedback or correction message, including your email address and the message contents.
How information is used
Technical information is used to deliver pages, protect the service, diagnose errors and understand whether website features are working correctly. Information submitted by email is used to investigate the request and send a response.
NIRFRank does not sell contact-message information. Public visitors are not asked to provide admission documents, passwords or payment details, and sensitive personal information should not be sent through the contact address.
Location personalization and browser storage
Some ranking pages may request an approximate country and state from an external IP-geolocation service so the page can show a relevant state ranking. Like any network request, the provider receives the IP address used for the connection. The request is sent directly from your browser with no referring page, and the resulting country and state are stored locally for a limited period to avoid repeated requests.
You can remove locally stored information through your browser settings. If the service is unavailable or does not return a supported location, the page continues to work with its default content.
Retention and security
Server logs and correspondence are kept only for as long as reasonably needed for security, troubleshooting, responding to requests or meeting applicable legal obligations. Retention periods may differ depending on the type of record and the reason it is needed.
Reasonable safeguards are used to protect information, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
External services and websites
Pages may use limited service providers for hosting, security, diagnostics or location personalization and may link to official government or institution websites. Those third parties process information under their own terms and privacy practices.
NIRFRank is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of an external website. Review the destination website’s policy before providing information there.
Questions and privacy requests
You may contact NIRFRank to ask what information was provided through a message, request a correction or deletion where appropriate, or raise a privacy concern. Include enough detail to identify the relevant correspondence, but do not send identity documents unless specifically required and a secure method has been agreed.
