NIRF 2024 Research rankings

Q: What is the NIRF 2024 Research ranking?

It is the official NIRF 2024 ranking list for the Research category, with rank, score and institution details.

The official NIRF 2024 Research ranking in this database contains 50 ranked institutions. Indian Institute of Science leads at rank 1 with a score of 84.98. IIT Madras is second and IIT Delhi is third.

Among institutions classified by NIRFRank, 39 are government and 11 are private. VIT Vellore is the leading private entry at rank 13 with a score of 60.28. The list covers 16 states and 33 cities. A smaller rank number is better, and scores should be compared only within the same category and year.

Movement compares each year with the preceding available edition. Newly listed means absent from the comparison year, not necessarily a first appearance. Absence does not establish why an institution is missing. Rank changes alone do not explain changes in quality.
