NIRF 2020 University rankings

Q: What is the NIRF 2020 University ranking?

It is the official NIRF 2020 ranking list for the University category, with rank, score and institution details.

The official NIRF 2020 University ranking in this database contains 100 ranked institutions. Indian Institute of Science leads at rank 1 with a score of 84.18. Jawaharlal Nehru University is second and Banaras Hindu University is third.

Among institutions classified by NIRFRank, 59 are government and 40 are private. Amrita is the leading private entry at rank 4 with a score of 62.27. The list covers 23 states and 71 cities. A smaller rank number is better, and scores should be compared only within the same category and year.

Movement compares each year with the preceding available edition. Newly listed means absent from the comparison year, not necessarily a first appearance. Absence does not establish why an institution is missing. Rank changes alone do not explain changes in quality.
